DWS announced the appointment of Vanessa Wang as Head of Client Coverage APAC, effective September 1, 2021. Based in Hong Kong, Wang joins from Amundi and will lead all coverage teams of DWS in the Asia Pacific region, providing investment solutions to institutional and wholesale clients and partners.
Wang joins with over 20 years of financial sector experience. Most recently, she had been with Amundi since 2016, working in two positions: Senior Managing Director and Head of Institutional Business in the US, and Head of Institutional Business in North Asia. In both roles, Wang was a member of Amundi’s Executive Committee, leading the institutional team to provide active and customized passive solutions to central banks, development banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and corporates.
In line with DWS’ long-standing commitment to providing innovative and customized ESG solutions, Wang has also been an active contributor in the ESG space, having previously served as a member of ESG and Retirement Income Workstream of Asia-Pacific Financial Forum under APEC.
“DWS is a highly regarded franchise in APAC with a strong business strategy," said Wang. Its broad range of products provides a solid foundation for the tailored and bespoke solutions DWS is able to offer APAC investors and its presence in many APAC markets gives the firm the capability to develop meaningful relationships. I look forward to broadening and deepening our client relationships further to ensure DWS is providing the relevant solutions for investors’ evolving needs.”
Holger Naumann, who previously had also led the Client Coverage Division in APAC for DWS, will continue in his role as Regional Head for the APAC region and take an active role with the firm’s clients and strategic partners.
